What we do

Exterior property maintenance

Roof lanterns, conservatory roofs, fascias, soffits, cladding and solar panels, cleaned and kept in good order year round. The outside of a house degrades quietly, and by the time it is obvious it has usually stopped being a cleaning job and started being a repair one.

What is included

Every exterior maintenance visit, covered properly

Roof lanterns and conservatory roofs

Glass, polycarbonate, frames, finials and the box gutter between the conservatory and the house. These are cleaned from the ground or off a safe access point rather than by anybody walking on a roof that was never built to be walked on.

Fascias, soffits and bargeboards

The white plastic that turns grey and streaked, brought back and checked over while we are there. Where it is timber rather than plastic, this is also the point at which rot gets spotted early enough to be a small job.

Solar panels

Panels lose output when they are covered in salt film, dust and bird mess, and around the coast that builds up faster than most people expect. Cleaned with pure water on a pole, no chemicals and nothing abrasive anywhere near the glass.

Cladding and render upkeep

Composite and timber cladding, rendered elevations and painted masonry kept clean so the coating lasts its full life rather than half of it. Cheaper by a long way than bringing the repaint forward three years.

Patios, paths and driveways

The hard surfaces cleaned down where it is appropriate for what they are made of, so the front of the property matches the house rather than letting it down.

Annual or twice yearly visits

Most customers end up on a simple annual visit that covers the wash down, the gutters and the conservatory in one trip. No contract and no direct debit, just a call when it is due and a price you already know.

Questions

Asked and answered

What does exterior property maintenance actually cover?

For us it is everything on the outside of a house that is a cleaning or upkeep job rather than a building one: the walls, windows, fascias, soffits, gutters, conservatory, roof lantern, cladding, solar panels and the hard surfaces. It is deliberately the same team that decorates the property, so problems get spotted by someone who knows what they turn into.

Do I need to sign up to a contract?

No. There is no contract, no minimum term and no direct debit. Most customers simply have us back once a year and we ring when it is due. If you want it twice a year, that is fine too, and if you want to skip a year nobody chases you.

Is it worth cleaning solar panels?

On the coast, generally yes. Salt film and dust cut output measurably, and around Portsmouth and Hayling that builds up faster than inland. Once a year is plenty for most installations. It is done with pure water on a pole with nothing abrasive and no chemicals, because scratching the glass or degrading the coating would cost you far more than the dirt does.

Can you walk on my conservatory roof to clean it?

No, and nobody else should either. Conservatory roofs and roof lanterns are not designed to take weight, and going through one is both dangerous and extremely expensive. Everything is done from the ground on poles or from a proper access point alongside.

Will you tell me if something needs repairing?

Yes, with photos. Cracked render, a rotten soffit, a failed seal on a lantern or a gutter section that has dropped all get flagged. Some of it we can put right ourselves, some of it is a roofer or a builder, and we will tell you which it is rather than taking on work that is not ours.

How much does an annual visit cost?

It depends on the size of the property and what is included, which is why it gets quoted rather than listed. What is worth knowing is that having the wash down, the gutters and the conservatory done in one visit costs noticeably less than booking the three separately, because it is one trip and one set up.
